The Gutturnio Riserva 2010 Tenuta Pozzolo DOC has received the excellence from the Ais Guide "Emilia Romagna da Bere e da Mangiare" 2016/17, that has selected this wine with a “beautiful ruby colour, excellent density, sensuous nose, delicious notes of prune compote mixed with sweet and hot spices, all enveloped in balsamic and toasty hints. Austere and noble on the palate expands and surrounds it with its integrity, rich in refined tannins.
The ancient Romans knew this highly prized wine as Gutturnium Placentiae.
From our specialised vineyards we take Barbera 60% and Croatina 40% grapes, and mix them to produce this generous wine, which blends the strength and force of Barbera with the gentler, scented Bonarda. The result: a perfect marriage.
In order to protect health we produce our grapes only with secure methods of "Lotta Integrata " L.R. 28/98 respecting ecological system. Grapes are hand selected and hand harvested.
This Gutturnio Riserva is made with hand selected and hand harvested grapes from a 15 years old vineyard it is refined for 6 months in steel, 6 months in barrique and then in bottle.
This deep red wine has an unmistakeable bouquet, harmonious body and a dry, velvety flavour of red berries with an underlying touch of almond.
It is the ideal accompaniment to grills, roasts, game, pork and beef stew.
It should be served at 18° - 20°C
